Man arrested in burglary of Fort Pierce church

FORT PIERCE — Police arrested a 45-year-old man accused of burglarizing a church in late September, according to a recently released arrest affidavit.

Eric L. Teal, of the 600 block of South Sixth Street, faces charges including burglary, petit theft and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer.

Teal’s arrest Friday came less than a month after an employee at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce in the 600 block of Orange Avenue told police he noticed a DVD/VHS player and a DVD player missing.

STUART — Police are looking for two people who schemed to steal cash from a downtown bar.

At about 12:30 p.m. last Tuesday, a man and woman walked into the packaging store of the Triangle Bar off Sailfish Circle, police said. Video surveillance shows the man talking with the clerk while the woman slips into a back office at the bar at 100 S. Dixie Highway and steals cash, police said.

Thieves break into Stuart convenience store

STUART — A convenience store was broken into after two men smashed through the front door on Tuesday.

Stuart Police responded to an alarm at Ocean Food Mart, 409 East Ocean Blvd., on Tuesday at 12:23 a.m.

The store’s video surveillance showed two men in dark clothing smashing the front door and entering the store, where they took petty cash and T-shirts from a clothing rack, police said.
