Man, wife argued during anniversary cruise before he jumped, was saved off St. Lucie

PORT CANAVERAL — Martha Jackson was watching a wedding video with her nephew when she heard the splash.

Soon after, the Nashville, Tenn., woman heard a man yelling.

“You could hear him hollering for help,” said Jackson, who was on the last night of a four-night cruise to the Bahamas.

Authorities have not released the name of the 34-year-old Philadelphia man who jumped from his sixth-deck suite aboard the Carnival Sensation late Wednesday. The man, who was on the cruise celebrating his wedding anniversary, was rescued 1 1/2 hours later by the Disney cruise ship Wonder off the coast of southern St. Lucie County. (more…)

Second Stuart car dealership reports theft of vehicle tires

STUART — Vehicle tires were reported stolen from another auto dealer this week.

On Thursday morning, police were called to Carl’s Buick, Pontiac, GMC on U.S. 1 where tires and wheels from two sports utility vehicles had been stolen, according to a news release.

The SUVs were left sitting on blocks, spokesman Sgt. Marty Jacobson said. Other vehicles were found on blocks with the equipment still intact while there were also vehicles found partially on blocks, Jacobson said.

The value of the property stolen and damaged was in excess of $6,500.00.

On June 19, an officer found four trucks sitting on wooden blocks at the Advantage Ford dealership on U.S. 1.

Trucks burglarized at Stuart car dealership

STUART — Police are looking for information on the theft of tire trucks from a car dealership.

While on patrol at 2:17 a.m. today Officer Brian Huffman found four trucks sitting on wooden blocks with their tires removed at Advantage Ford at 4000 S.E. U.S. 1 in Stuart.

A fifth vehicle was on blocks but the wheels had not been removed.

The value of the trendy wheels and tires was estimated at $5,600.00.
