Police investigate charge that officer exposed himself to woman at juvenile detention center
Wednesday, March 4th, 2009 by Ana X. CeronFORT PIERCE — A detention officer at the St. Lucie Regional Juvenile Detention Center is on paid suspension after a worker there told police he exposed himself to her over the weekend.

Police and the state Department of Juvenile Justice are investigating the claim, and the 37-year-old officer is on paid administrative leave pending the state investigation, police and state officials said.
The 34-year-old Port St. Lucie woman told police she was mopping up the kitchen floor on Saturday night when the juvenile justice detention officer came in to ask for some plastic cups. The woman said she gave the cups to the officer but he didn’t leave. She said she didn’t pay him much attention because she was trying to finish up cleaning, according to a police report.
The officer then called the woman by her nickname several times, the woman said, and she became irritated, glanced at him and realized he was exposing himself.
