Four Seasons musician and St. Lucie County resident to sell easy-to-play guitar on QVC

You may have seen them on TV before, but not like this.

Former members of the 1970s musical group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Don Ciccone and Lee Shapiro, are teaming up on a new musical project.

Yet Ciccone, a St. Lucie County resident since 2001, and Shapiro, who lives in New Jersey, won’t be on stage together.

Call center may add 500 jobs in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE — Aegis Communications Group may be relocating its Treasure Coast business across town and adding 500 jobs to its local call-center workforce.

Nate Bray, president of real estate business development for Palm Beach Gardens-based Asset Specialists, said Tuesday his company leased 33,300-square-feet to Aegis over the weekend at the southeast corner of University and Peacock boulevards in St. Lucie West.

“This is 500 new jobs, that’s what they’re telling me,” Bray said. “They came in about four weeks ago and moved really fast on this. They love the county and love the workforce. They’re really excited about staying here.”

Hold the phone: QVC reducing employee hours in PSL

QVC Inc., one of the largest employers on the Treasure Coast, is temporarily reducing the hours of about 450 workers at its call center in Port St. Lucie.

Starting Feb. 23 certain hourly workers — termed “non-exempt employees” by the company — in the order services group have been advised that they will be scheduled to work on average one day less a week than currently scheduled, said QVC spokeswoman Tara Hunter. (more…)
