Woman’s suit claims harassment at Stuart McDonald’s
Friday, January 16th, 2009 by TCPalm.comSTUART — A former employee of McDonald’s is suing the fast-food giant claiming she was sexually harassed while working as a cashier at the restaurant on Southwest Lost River Road.
In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, Crystal Neely claimed she was hired as a cashier in February 2008 but soon after “she was subjected to sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior from a co-worker.”
Neely alleged the harassment included the co-worker telling her “let me kiss you,” “I love you,” and grabbing at her breasts, the lawsuit states. When Neely complained, she alleged in the lawsuit, “nothing was done.”
She also claimed she was discriminated against because she had psoriasis, a non-contagious inflammatory skin disease.
Danya Proud, a spokeswoman at McDonald’s USA LLC in Illinois said they haven’t seen Neely’s lawsuit but said they take such matters “very seriously.”
