FORT PIERCE — A 41-year-old North Carolina man was arrested early Sunday and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior on a minor younger than age 12, according to a Fort Pierce Police Department release.
Roger Allen Fincher of Leicester, N.C., was sleeping in his tractor-trailer at the Flying J truck stop on Orange Avenue when police officers arrested him after a nationwide lookout. (more…)
FORT PIERCE — A 49-year-old man faces felony charges after touching a 12-year-old girl inappropriately on two occasions beginning in mid-September, according to a recently released arrest affidavit.
Cornelius Huskin, of the 2400 block of Keen Road, was arrested Monday on two counts of lewd or lascivious behavior in connection with the incidents and told authorities he has “demons inside him of a sexual nature.”
The girl told St. Lucie County Sheriff’s investigators the first incident happened in mid-September when Huskin touched her inappropriately. The girl said he didn’t put his hands under her clothes.

PORT ST. LUCIE — A 19-year-old man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl was arrested Thursday morning on a felony charge, an arrest affidavit states.
Joseph John Waller, of the 1000 block of Southwest Coleman Avenue, was arrested just after 2 a.m. on a charge of lewd or lascivious offense committed upon a person under 16.
The victim’s mother found Waller trying to hide under the victim’s bed when she checked on her daughter between 1 a.m. and 1:10 a.m., police said.

Robert Payne
The girl’s mother alerted police that day after finding a note from Robert W. Payne to the girl.
In it, he offered her the Xbox and to let her play with his cell phone, according to a police report.
When questioned by detectives, Payne, 26, told police he had exposed himself to the girl on four different occasions and performed a sex act on himself. He also said he once touched the girl’s backside through her clothes.
According to the report, Payne admitted he was attracted to the girl and had a “fascination” with her, which he attributed to being abused himself as a child.
Payne is being held in the St. Lucie County jail in lieu of $125,000 bail. He faces one charge of molestation and four counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition.
Joseph Bowen
The girl and her 10-year-old sister told their mother that her 25-year-old boyfriend, Joseph Bowen, had tried to get the older sister to sit on his lap. After she tried leaving the bedroom where the two girls were playing, the girl fell to the floor and Bowen laid on top of her while the younger girl yelled at him to get off her sister, according to a St. Lucie County Sheriff’s report.
Bowen then went to the bathroom and later left for work.
After the incident, the younger sister noticed a wet spot on the back of the 14-year-old’s pants. When their mother got home, the girls told her what happened and she called authorities.
