— A would-be robber didn’t get any money from his elderly victim. Gertrude Early, 89, fought back.

When Early opened the door of her Stuart condo, she said Jeffery Servidio forced his way in. Early said Servidio put his hand on her neck and started to push her back, so she put her hands on his chest and shoved. Servidio stumbled back out of the condo and Early yelled for help. Witnesses saw a white pickup truck driving away from the scene.

“Well, I had a hold of the door by that time and as loud as I could do it I said, ‘You get out of here!’ Just like that,” Early told NewsChannel 5. “I didn’t know I could scream like that.”

According to an affidavit released by Martin County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Servidio, of Jensen Beach, has admitted involvement in two home invasions with elderly victims that happened Thursday and Friday, according to TCPalm.com.
