FORT PIERCE — A 71-year-old man who told dispatchers his wife was missing was arrested hours later after his wife said he beat her and kept her against her will for hours, according to an arrest affidavit released Monday and police.

Dispatchers got a call about 1:05 a.m. Sunday from Joseph P. Delmonaco, of Pembroke Pines, who reported his wife missing after they checked in to room 156 at a Days Inn hotel in the 6600 block of Darter Court. (more…)

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — One person is dead and another was in surgery after an attempted murder/suicide involving a husband and wife, St. Lucie County sheriff’s deputies said.

Authorities suspect William Beck, 54, used a .32-caliber gun to shoot his wife Jacqueline Beck, 54, twice - once in the face and once in the chest - before killing himself inside his home in the 8400 block of Fort Walton Boulevard shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday. (more…)

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A Fort Pierce man died Tuesday afternoon after the motorcycle he was riding crashed on a Georgia highway, according to Savannah-Chatham police.

At 3:25 p.m., first responders were called to the westbound lanes of Georgia 204 near Interstate 95 on a report of two people injured in a motorcycle crash, the Savannah Morning News reported. (more…)
