Attorneys want to question Stuart sports bar staff about 3 teens killed in alcohol-related crash

STUART — Attorneys in a wrongful death lawsuit filed shortly after the Aug. 4 Cove Road collision that killed three teenagers want to question staff at BJ’s Sports Bar and Grill in Stuart on duty the evening leading up to the late night crash.

Passengers Connor W. Graver, 16, Christopher H. Briglio, 18, and driver Nicholas P. Coady, also 18, died Aug. 4 after their Jeep slammed into a front end loader on Southeast Cove Road that was working as part of a road construction project in the area south of Stuart.

Graver’s parents, on behalf of their son Conner, were the first to sue Sheltra & Son Construction Co., claiming the Indiantown company failed to safely maintain the area where the crash occurred.

Jupiter man dies in Martin County crash

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

A 65-year-old Jupiter man died in a car crash Wednesday morning on Beeline Highway in southern Martin County.

Benjamin Newlands was traveling west in a Buick station wagon when he veered across both lanes and crashed into a marsh, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

He died inside the car.

The crash happened about 10:20 a.m. The FHP said no other vehicles were involved and it was not clear what caused him to veer off the road.

PSL man dies in motorcycle crash

PORT ST. LUCIE — A 29-year-old Port St. Lucie man died after crashing his motorcycle this morning, police said.

At about 11 a.m., the man and a friend were riding their motorcycles along the 1600 block of Sandia Drive when one of the drivers lost control and fell off the bike, Port St. Lucie Police spokesman Thomas Nichols said.

The man was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene, Nichols said.

Police are not releasing the man’s name until his family is notified.
