STUART — Investigators are looking for a suspect in a credit card crime spotted on surveillance video at Walmart last month.

The suspect on Jan. 19 used a credit card stolen from a Massachusetts man and purchased $1,400 in gift cards, Stuart police said. He was spotted on camera at the store at 4001 S. Federal Highway at 1:35 p.m. that day wearing a black sweatshirt, a brown hat and blue jeans, police said.

STUART — Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying individuals using stolen identities in a credit card fraud reported across South Florida.

The schemes have been reported in Wal-Marts in Stuart and Jupiter.

On each occasion, suspects are using the credit card account information on a counterfeit credit card to purchasing gift cards, police said. The suspects are driving a silver newer model Toyota mini-van, police said. They are believed to be out of the Dade or Broward County area.
