Police seeking suspects in grocery store robbery

PORT ST. LUCIE — Police are looking for two men suspected of robbing a grocery store and tying up three people there on Friday night.

One man told police he went to the back of the La Perla meat market in the 1300 block of Bayshore Boulevard to load up a van at about 8:40 p.m. when he was grabbed and his hands bound. He told officers $600 was taken from him before he was dragged behind a dumpster.

A short while later, a second man left the store to check on his friend. It was then, he said, that he was tied and thrown to the floor. The robbers stole about $250 from him, the man said.

Man reports kidnapping, armed robbery

FORT PIERCE — A Fort Pierce man reported armed kidnappers masked his eyes and robbed him of his cash and clothes over the weekend.

The 30-year-old man told police he was walking along Okeechobee Road around midnight on Friday after leaving the El Torito restaurant when a minivan with a television screen in the front pulled over by him.

The driver and another man jumped out in front him, the man said, with the driver pointing a gun at him. The pair told the man they were police officers and wanted to his identification, he said.

After the man took out his documents, the passenger shoved him inside the vehicle, the man told police.

STUART — Two Wednesday night hold-ups resulted in an unlikely charge for the get-away driver: child abuse.

Cortina Wobbleton, 26, told investigators with Stuart police and Martin County Sheriff’s Office that she was aware that Lamar Lloyd, 21, and Damian Louissaint, 21, had robbed a Pizza Hut and a Sunoco gas station while she and her children were outside waiting in the car.

Authorities said the two men walked into the pizzeria in the 2000 block of U.S. 1 at about 9:30 p.m. before one man brandished a revolver and the other watched the door.

Minutes and about 2.5 miles south later, the men entered the gas station in the 4500 block of U.S. 1 and demanded money, according to sheriff’s reports. They also took Black & Mild cigars, Newport cigarettes, Dentyne Ice gum and an energy drink, the reports show.

PORT ST. LUCIE — Police are looking for a man who pointed a gun at two check-cashing store clerks and demanded money over the weekend.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, police received a call about an armed robbery in progress at Advance America Cash Advance store in the 10100 block of S. U.S. 1.

Two clerks told police a man with a stocking over his face entered the store and pointed a gun at them and demanded cash from their registers.
