February 12th, 2012 by TCPalm.com

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A 52-year-old Jensen Beach man was killed Saturday night when a car in which he was a passenger left State Road A1A about one-half mile north of the Florida Power & Light Co. nuclear plant, hit some trees and rolled.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that John Kevin McNamara was pronounced dead at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute following the 7:59 p.m. crash. Troopers said the driver of the car, Christopher Andrew Giles, 41, also of Jensen Beach received minor injuries in the crash.

Troopers reported Giles was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash and that McNamara was not.

Troopers said Giles was driving a 2003 Infinity south on SR-A1A when it veered off the east side of the road.

The crash is under investigation.
