On Wednesday, Nathaniel P. Reed, former Assistant Secretary of the Interior in the Nixon and Ford administrations and Florida’s most eloquent conservationist, jumped off the fence and into the fray: He supports Amendment 4, the Hometown Democracy amendment.

Sally says loosening controls on the county’s future growth could make a mockery of the Stuart-Martin Chamber of Commerce’s “Enjoy our good nature” slogan.

  1. love martin county Says:

Amendment 4 will keep Martin County unique.Vote yes on 4. Now if we can just get term limits passed we’d have the whole enchilada.

  2. Eric Says:

    Right on Sally,

Over development has trashed Florida’s economy, ruined our quality of life, polluted our environment and driven up our taxes.
Yet NOW the Development Lobby is spending over $10 million to try and convince us that MORE DEVELOPMENT is the solution, and we should vote no on Amendment 4.

    YEA, Right!

Voting YES on Amendment 4 gives us ALL a voice in our destiny. Why wouldn’t anyone want to have voice in their destiny rather than letting developers decide it for us?
