Sally Swartz on Tuesday’s elections

In two Martin County Commission races and three Martin County School Board races, voters have a chance to put the commission back on a careful-growth path and the school board on the road to civility.

Ed Fielding is challenging Susan Valliere. Sarah Heard, the commission’s only current member trying to protect Martin’s growth code, faces challengers Dpm Pickard and Lee Weberman. For the school board, incumbent Lorie Shekailo faces Michael Busha, incumbent Lauri Gaylord faces Cameron Boynton and incumbent Maura Barry-Sorenson faces Tina McSoley and Gary Sparks.
