Celebrity dermatologist plunks down $8.65 million for Vero Beach oceanfront home

Celebrity dermatologist Nicholas Perricone, famous for his pricey anti-aging skin products, has purchased a home in Vero Beach’s exclusive John’s Island for $8.65 million.

According to public records, the oceanfront home sits on 1.32-acres and previously sold for $2.2 million in 2002.

Clark French, with Premier Estate Properties, who exclusively sells million-dollar estate homes in Indian River County, said luxury homes in the area continue to sell at a brisk pace and remain popular with high-net-worth individuals, despite the recession.

French could be on the mark.

Just last fall, Lewis B. Campbell, who retired as CEO of aircraft, defense and intelligence giant Rhode Island-based Textron Inc., purchased a home for $1.6 million in the Riomar Bay subdivision on the Indian River.

Earlier this month, two retired executives with homes in Vero Beach were included in Forbes magazine’s list of “The World’s Billionaires.” Peter Peterson, with a net worth of $2 billion, co-founded the private equity firm Blackstone Group and owns a $3.5 million home in Vero Beach’s Windsor community. Albert Lee Ueltschi, with a net worth of $1.9 billion, also has property in Vero Beach. Other notable Indian River County homeowners include Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax, author Carl Hiassen and singer Gloria Estefan and husband, producer Emilio Estefan Jr.

Perricone, who has authored three New York Times best sellers, has been a guest on Oprah and other news programs. His latest book is titled 7 Secrets to Beauty, Health & Longevity and his flagship store is located on Madison Avenue in New York.

Perricone’s Neuropeptide Facial Conformer was recently featured on VH1 and sells for $495 per 2 ounce bottle on his Web site. VH1 named A-list celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Bruce Willis and Jennifer Lopez as his clients.

   I used to live in Meriden, CT and saw him when he was “just a dermatologist”. He wasnt that great and after 3 visits to him and no results I used my money better elsewhere.
