March 2nd, 2010 by Julius WhighamFORT PIERCE — One person was killed and two were injured in a crash between an SUV and an ambulance Tuesday evening.
An SUV collided with an ambulance shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday, north of the intersection of 25th Street and Virginia Avenue, a Fort Pierce Police news release said. The SUV’s driver, Germaine Lindor, 63, of Port St. Lucie, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The ambulance’s driver, St. Lucie County firefighter William Hines, and a passenger, Christopher Doyle, were transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. Hines was treated and released, while Doyle was in critical condition, the release said.
CBS 12 reported Wednesday evening that Doyle’s left leg was injured so badly that doctors had to amputate.
According to the police release, the SUV was traveling north on 25th street when it entered the intersection and collided with the passenger side of the ambulance. The impact tipped the ambulance over on its driver side and caused it to spin around, the release said.

To EMS, one person just died and one in critical condition, and you rip the firefighter work schedule and pension plan. You’re an idiot. You must have failed miserably trying to become a St. Lucie firefighter. What about the guys family who just died? What about the guy in CC? Look beyond your own putrid short comings and think about the health and well being of another human. You are a pathetic person!

EMS – you idiot. The paramedic that is in CC is 20 years old! His mom has been my best friend since we were 13 years old. I’m positive retirement is the furthest thing from his mind.

You see, there is always one moron that can make even a vehicle accident somehow a political message. EMS, your shortcomings are showing. I wonder what people will say about you when YOU get what you deserve.

In response to EMS, there is that old saying that if yoj have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. What is the purpose of the comment other than attempting to make others furious. Im not lowering myself to your level. I will say this. A life has been lost, a career has been possibly / likely lost, and a lot of people are in pain both physical and mental. Nothing good has come out of this other than respect and support to the people involved and their loved ones who mourn the life lost and support the lives that are hurt. Regardless of who is to blame, it doesn’t make a difference. My sympathy goes out to the family of the driver who died as well as to my fellow “brothers” and their families. EMS, remember, Karma…what goes around comes around. You will have your day.
