Fire destroys home in Martin County
November 16th, 2009 by TCPalm.comGOLDEN GATE — A fire at 2587 S.E. Normand St. on Monday night left a two-story home uninhabitable but nobody was injured.
The Martin County Fire Rescue Division received a call about a car fire at the home around 8 p.m. They learned that a fire in the vehicle had spread to the dwelling, said Hoss Wiggins, a fire battalion chief with Martin County Fire Rescue.
By around 9 p.m., the department had extinguished the main fire and was searching the house for smaller fires it might have missed. The home was was still standing at the time, but it was destroyed.
Wiggins said he did not know the names of the occupants or how many occupants there were, although neighbors said only one man lived in the house. Wiggins said the man was offered aid from the American Red Cross Martin County Chapter but decided to stay with family in Martin County.
Wiggins said he did not know the monetary value of the damage done and said the cause was unknown.
Geraldyne Vega, a Fort Pierce resident, was visiting family in Golden Gate when the blaze started. She and an acquaintance stood across the street as an arc of water from Fire Rescue’s hose was sprayed at the home and the smell of smoke wafted in the air.
“It was a humongous fire,” Vega said. “It was spreading a lot.

Is taking too long for FF’s to get up from the bed, dress up, have breakfast and go check if the fire is finished. They got it right once again, the house was destroyed.
Next week PR will show a cat saved from a pole or a hole etc etc.
At least nobody died as happen in PBC all the time.
