There is a need for more sidewalks and bike paths. All along Indian River Drive there really aren’t any sidewalks except in downtown area of Jensen Beach. Cars are so important to our happiness, but so are sidewalks and bike paths for those who bike. The two can get along but they need their spaces. The Langford Park area has sidewalks but they are not contiguous. The Savannah Road new sidewalks are a blessing. Thanks to our Commissioner.

Amen!! To what Tami said. Motorists, Be Alert & take every precaution to drive safely and watch out for others especially pedestrians. But PEDESTRIANS, you MUST remember that when it is dark or rainy or even too bright & sunny and road conditions are not good, that makes it more difficult for someone in a car to see you. Just last night I was riding in the car with my husband driving, and all of a sudden he swerved for a reason I didn’t know. I asked him why he swerved & he said he did it to avoid hitting two teenage kids who were riding their bikes down the road in front of us in our townhouse complex. This really scared me because I didn’t even see them. Please remember that when lighting & road conditions are not good & especially when pedestrians don’t use & wear reflector devices, the driver of a car is probably not going to see them until they are right up to them & by then it could be too late. And then, what a tragedy, a life lost and another life (the driver’s) changed and traumatized forever.
Please Buckle UP, Wear Reflectors, Travel Safely & always keep GOD with you.
