Demons ‘of a sexual nature’ led Fort Pierce man to touch girl inappropriately, report says

October 28th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

FORT PIERCE — A 49-year-old man faces felony charges after touching a 12-year-old girl inappropriately on two occasions beginning in mid-September, according to a recently released arrest affidavit.

Cornelius Huskin, of the 2400 block of Keen Road, was arrested Monday on two counts of lewd or lascivious behavior in connection with the incidents and told authorities he has “demons inside him of a sexual nature.”

The girl told St. Lucie County Sheriff’s investigators the first incident happened in mid-September when Huskin touched her inappropriately. The girl said he didn’t put his hands under her clothes.

The affidavit gave this account:

The girl said the next incident happened Oct. 22. This time Huskin started licking her leg and touched her under her clothes.

Huskin, listed as unemployed, said he touched the girl on both occasions, though the extent of the touching he said differed from what the girl described.

“Huskin told me he had demons inside him of a sexual nature and that’s why he does these things,” the affidavit states. “Huskin said he knows it’s wrong and wants to change.”

The girl has a 5-year-old sister, but the girl said Huskin never touched the 5-year-old sister.

Huskin was held Wednesday in the St. Lucie County jail on $150,000 bail, a jail official said.
