South Fork High to host DUI prevention talk

October 15th, 2009 by Cara Fitzpatrick

STUART - The public is invited to attend a free presentation at 7 p.m. tonight at South Fork High School about the dangers of drinking and driving.

The program, which was organized by the Martin County School District and the Martin County Sheriff’s office, will feature Renee Napier, whose daughter, Meagan, was killed in a car crash involving a drunk driver. Meagan’s best friend also died in the accident.

Since her daughter’s death, Napier has shared her story with students and community members to raise awareness about the consequences of driving drunk. She also created the Meagan Napier Foundation.

Others in attendance include Tim Stone, whose daughter, Sarah, was killed in a similar crash in Martin County, and Stephen Bromstrup, the driver who was convicted of vehicular homicide in the death of Stone’s daughter and her friend, Alexandra Quaroni.

Presentations for students were held today at South Fork High School and Indiantown Middle School.
