Two suspects arrested in last week’s fatal shooting of store owner

September 11th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

FORT PIERCE — Two of three remaining suspects in the robbery and fatal shooting last week of convenience store owner Parag Patel were arrested Friday by a U.S. Marshals task force in South Florida, police said.

Donald “DJ” Isaiah, 24, and 21-year-old Anthony “Rude Boy” Symonette, were arrested in South Florida on charges including first-degree felony murder with a firearm and robbery with a deadly weapon while wearing a mask.

They, along with a third unidentified man, are accused on Sept. 4 of fatally shooting Patel, 44, at Patels’ A&M Discount Beverage.

No further details about the apprehension of Isaiah and Symonette were immediately available.

Police have said Mahogany Taquilla Alexander, 29, dropped off Isaiah, Symonette and the third man at Patel’s store at Georgia Avenue and Okeechobee Road and picked them up after the incident. They were inside for 30 to 35 seconds and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Alexander was arrested about 14 hours after the shooting on charges including first-degree felony murder with a firearm and robbery with a deadly weapon while wearing a mask.

Another person police linked to the case is 23-year-old Deondravious Lamar St. Fleur. He was arrested Wednesday on an accessory after the fact charge.

St. Fleur allegedly drove Isaiah, Symonette and Alexander to a Walmart in Port St. Lucie in another vehicle to deposit at least some of the proceeds from the robbery, police have said.

He also took them to rent a car in Stuart, police said. Isaiah and Symonette reportedly left, and St. Fleur took Alexander home and they had a conversation about the robbery and shooting.

I never thought I would say this…BUT, more responsible people need to carry pistols with a permit, and take classes.
Maybe when a few are shot trying to rob stores and individuals..It will help put a stop to this.
