Store owner found dead in Fort Pierce

September 4th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

FORT PIERCE — The owner of A&M Discount Beverage was shot and found dead Friday morning behind the counter of his store at Georgia Avenue and Okeechobee Road, a police spokeswoman said. It was at least the second time the husband and father had been shot at his business, police say.

Police responded about 9:20 a.m. to a 911 call to the store and found owner Parag Patel, 44, dead behind the counter, police spokeswoman Audria Moore said. Patel, of the 4300 block of Gator Trace Lane in Fort Pierce, had been shot several times.

Three males were seen leaving in a newer model gray Chevrolet Caprice.

At least one other person was in the store at the time.

Moore said Patel was shot in the back in 2006 just after closing the store as he walked to his car. Patel, a native of India, had a wife and two daughters and had owned the store for more than a decade.

Catch the animals and shoot them if you have a chance legally. The low lifes probably have a rap sheet 3 pages long. Condolences to the Patel family.

    The usual suspects I’m sure!

So progress has been made. Only hours after the murder/robbery the car was discovered in Ft. Pierce and the get-away driver was found at 11pm at her residence in Vero. Hoping someone will make a few slip ups or reveal to officials more information so the remaining 3 suspects can soon be taken into custody.
My prayers to the Patel family. May justice be served.
