August 24th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

PORT ST. LUCIE — Police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a 56-year-old diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic missing since Saturday, officials said Monday.

Sigurd Arnold Carlsson reportedly left his residence, an assisted living facility in the 2100 block of Southeast Shelter Drive, about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. He reportedly was heading to buy cigarettes.

Carlsson is described as paranoid schizophrenic and an alcoholic with no friends or family in the area. He doesn’t have his medication.

Carlsson, white, 5-foot-7 and 175 pounds, has gray hair and blue eyes.

He last was seen wearing a red striped shirt, blue pants and black leather shoes. He has no money or credit cards and is thought to know his way back home.

Carlsson “walked off” in May and turned up in Martin County, a report states.

He frequents convenience stores and liquor stores.

Anyone with information is asked to Detective Daniel Herrington at (772) 871-5001.
