Port St. Lucie woman stabs boyfriend over alleged infidelity, police say

August 7th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

PORT ST. LUCIE — It was an “all night” argument over infidelity — complete with a purported audio tape of the “cheating” — that culminated with a woman stabbing her boyfriend of several years, according to a recently released arrest affidavit and police.

Police said they met the victim Thursday morning at St. Lucie Medical Center, where his girlfriend, Jennece Cordella Shaw, drove him after the incident.

The victim said Shaw, 31, had been accusing him of engaging in a sexual relationship with their roommate. They argued “all night” and went to bed about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. He said Shaw, listed as a hair stylist, woke him about 5 a.m. and they went outside the residence in the 1900 block of Southeast Hillmoor Drive because Shaw didn’t want to wake the roommate.

According to police reports, Shaw said she had an audio tape of “him cheating on her,” but he said he listened and nothing was on it. He denied a sexual relationship with the roommate and told police that’s when he “saw her right hand come at him to hit him.”

“He told me he did not see the knife at first, but after she hit him he felt the blood going down his back and leg,” the affidavit states.

The victim told investigators he called 911 before Shaw apologized and took him to the hospital.

Shaw denied stabbing her boyfriend and said she “did not know how that happened.”

She told police she threw drugs under a car parked next to her vehicle, and police recovered cocaine and prescription medication.

Shaw faces a felony aggravated battery (domestic) charge along with three felony drug charges.
