Landlord fatally shot in Martin County

July 30th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

A dispute between landlord and tenant ended in a fatal shooting Thursday night.

Martin County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the 2500 block of Southeast Monroe Street about 9:10 p.m., Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Kirkpatrick said.

That’s when sheriff’s deputies say Dean Beir, age not available, who lives at the address, shot his landlord, Jason Nordstrom, in the torso with a handgun.

Nordstrom, whose age and address weren’t available, was rushed to Martin Memorial South Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Beir was being questioned by detectives on scene. A handgun was retrieved at the scene and placed into evidence.
