July 8th, 2009 by Ana X. Ceron

PORT ST. LUCIEMayor Patricia Christensen and her husband and campaign treasurer, Frans Christensen, have paid $5,000 in fines to the Florida Elections Commission as part of an agreement over charges of campaign violations.

According to the agreement signed by the couple on June 4, the two failed to report a $500 contribution from Homes of East Lake Village LLC in August 2006, and two $500 donations from The Painting Pros LLC in August and October that same year.

The commission agreed to charge the couple $5,000 in fines, which was paid last month, according to an official.

The commission is set to approve the agreement and payment at its August meeting.

The Valliere’s must have had a better attorney. They only had to pay $4,000 in fines. The Christensen’s had to pay $5,000 for their criminal actions.

Martin County residents were calling for Valliere’s resignation over the $4,000 fine they received.

Will the citizens of Port St. Lucie call for Christensen’s resignation?

    She should leave, and promptly.

As a resident and taxpayer in Port St Lucie I feel that Christensen is no longer capable of doing the job as Mayor. She has disgraced not only herself but the town that she was elected serve. She can no longer be trusted to deal with the financial aspects of Port St Lucie.
The only problem is that if she were to step down, then we would have Jack Kelly stepping in too this position and he is no better than christensen. Once you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas. Really in reality their is not one elected official in Port St Lucie that is worth a damn.

  3. Tim Says:

No wonder why they wanted the Tea Party folks behind the signs. They are about as corrupt as they can get. We are watching you now and I hope Christensen gets both boots. This is exactly the type of stealing from Politicians that the Tea Parties are about.

And the commission is set to vote on whether or not to approve the $5000.00 payment. She does something illegal and
the commissioners decide if the taxpayers will pay for. They are are always complaining of of tax revenue shortfalls, laying of employees and trimming departments…..oh how stupid of me…………they,ll just raise our taxes again if they need the 5000.00. This is the reason taxpayers are increasingly distrustful of politicians/thieves/scam artists.

Taxpayers are NOT paying the $5,000 fine, if it is accepted by the FEC in Tallahassee. This comes directly from the Mayors pocket. Her husband works for an engineering firm, they can afford it.

be sure and remember this at election time we need a whole new government set up in psl, they are all on the take i’m tired of feeding the pocket books of these people.

  8. sgd1 Says:

You are right, christensens husband does work for an engineering firm which by the way gets the majority of the work in PSL. Now what does that tell you? If she can’t get one way she will get it another. Personally they should have been fined the maximum penalty which I beleive was $10K. She has ripped more than that off from the taxpayers.
