Stuart 18-year-old suspected of attacking 11-year-old boy

June 25th, 2009 by TCPalm.com

STUART — An affidavit released by sheriff’s deputies accuses a man of a brutish attack Tuesday on an 11-year-old boy.

William Raymond Dion, 18, of the 5800 block of Southeast Avalon Drive, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery.

According to the affidavit, the boy was riding his bicycle near the intersection of Southeast Dixie Ross Street and Southeast Robert Loop Road at 6:40 p.m. when Dion hit him in the hip and the face with a chunk of cement.

He then pushed the boy off his bicycle as the boy attempted to get away, the affidavit says.

The boy’s face was extremely swollen when deputies arrived. His parents took him to an unspecified hospital for treatment.

Dion was being held Wednesday in the Martin County Jail in lieu of $10,500 bond.

This is a case where I would rather spend my life in prison than let the police slap this sick S.O.B. on the wrist. I have an 11 year old boy and I would kill/die for him. This 18 year old will probably get probation for assault/battery. 10,000 dollars my ass. I’d bet if he hit a dog with a brick, this would be world news.

  2. Mr. Bojangles Says:

George it’s a 10k bond, he will see his day in court.

  3. Mr Evrbles Says:

All i have to say, 245 to life if that ever happen to my son.

  4. Mr. Pat Says:

If it happened to my son the perp would not make it to his court date. End of story.

  5. Ms.Ladyjay Says:

Life in prison is what i wolud vote it I were on the jury. I work at a prison in the glades and I don’t have sympathy for them either. So lock him up and throw away the key.

  6. Jonny B Says:

I’m just curious as to why he did it. Don’t tell me no one else has been tempted to throw something at someone’s little brat and you KNOW kids today can be real a**holes. “Sticks and stones may break my bones” aside, of course.

  7. Meme Says:

Not that it will matter to the few people who read this blog, but the 18 year old is autistic. Until about 3 weeks ago, he was living with his father. His father died and he must be living with another relative where the incident occured. I’m not making excuses by any means, but this guy needs to be evaluated and obviously needs help.

that young man need help. there are too many young people out there who have no direction.put them in jail and throw away the keys is not the answer. i hope that young boy will be allright

  9. Ed Botsko Says:

The mistake is calling that animal a man…I hope the cops got some licks in on him before they tanked him…

  10. Jade66 Says:

There are alot of opinions going in both directions here. I believe that this young man does need help and I also believe that his parents should be held liable also. Autistic he may be, his parents knows of his violent outbreaks and his verbal abuse and he is still aloud to walk the streets. He does live with his other parent and no they do not live where we do. We too know that his other father passed away, but this has been happening for years in this community and his parent passing away has nothing to do with this. Please do not make excuses. There are over 40 reports against this person for verbally and physically abusing the kids in this neighborhood. He has threatened to kidnapp and kill little girls, he has physically abused children who are playing innocently and he has no reason to be in our neighborhood. He has truly taken over this community and our kids are scared to even go out and play. He has needed help a hell of alot longer than just recently and nothing has been done. He needs to be put away before he kills one of these kids. Oh and just so you know he posted bail and is now walking the streets again…Nice

  11. Jade66 Says:

They didn’t…He has been released, we just saw him walking the roads. He is definetly disabled and disturbed. However it’s more disturbing what he does to these kids and really nothing has been done

  12. george Says:

Good post Jade66. The criminal justice system is too weak sometimes. I don’t understand how someone can get years of jail time for selling weed to a kid (which is bad too) and basically get a stern talking to by some liberal judge for almost killing this kid. WTH!!!

  13. Jade66 Says:

Something needs to be done. I believe this time it will be. This isssue will not be ignored and he will be charged to the fullest extent…This person has messed with the wrong family and I do not see this issue being brushed under the rug…oh Johnny B….shame on you. I would also love to see the paperwork saying that he’s autistic. I would say he’s more paronoa scitz than anything else…

  14. alby Says:

Johnny B. since when does a beligerent child need beat up with a concrete brick? Follow him and let his parents know what he is up to. Or the best thing…call children and family services especially if this has been ongoing.

  15. Free Says:

i’m with the first 3, if it was my son. i would be behind bars, and this idiot would of been in a body bag. end of story.
