A Port St. Lucie man was arrested Wednesday after he offered a 5-year-old girl an Xbox video game console in exchange for sexual favors, police said.

The girl’s mother alerted police that day after finding a note from Robert W. Payne to the girl.

In it, he offered her the Xbox and to let her play with his cell phone, according to a police report.

When questioned by detectives, Payne, 26, told police he had exposed himself to the girl on four different occasions and performed a sex act on himself. He also said he once touched the girl’s backside through her clothes.

According to the report, Payne admitted he was attracted to the girl and had a “fascination” with her, which he attributed to being abused himself as a child.

Payne is being held in the St. Lucie County jail in lieu of $125,000 bail. He faces one charge of molestation and four counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition.

  2. MEME Says:

    I’m with LOGAN!

  3. JS Says:

I think we are all with Logan!! Or save all the tax payers money and leave him alone for an hour with the childs Father!! I am sure that will do the trick. Disgusting piece of crap he is.

you know its sad, that these pedophiles have this obsession, they cant be stopped, they cant be fixed. so why allow them to run in and out of the system for years till they perfect
their technique and learn to kill and hide the bodies so they wont get caught.

Kill them, Im sorry that he was abused or born with this problem, but just kill him. so we dont have to live in fear of these types!

  5. Missy Says:

I am sick to death of these creeps claiming they do these horrible things because they were abused themselves. As someone who suffered years of sexual abuse as a child, I have absolutely NO desire to hurt another in this or any other way. It’s just a cop-out they usually save for the court psychiatrist or the jury.

  6. Roxie Says:

Iam sick to hear this type of thing and the system need to implement a DEATH PENALTY for this Animals , that all they deserved.

  7. Mr. Bojangles Says:

WTF ever happened to just driving around in a van with “FREE CANDY” on the sides?

This guy needs to be locked up.

Missy as far as your screwed up situation, you types of people are all affected in different ways…I am sure we’d find some skeletons in your closet if you were truly abused.

I don’t know many that freely admit it when they were.

  8. Somewhere Says:

Mr Bojangles…you are one sad individual…with skeletons I am sure…

  9. Jane Says:

Mr. Bojangles, Why wouldn’t she admit it on here, it’s not a public place, you or I don’t know her. I too was sexually abused for many years as a young girl age 5 - 8 and have no desire to want to molest children, and I agree with Missy it’s a cop out for someone to say, “I do it cuz I was abused” I say bull to that. If the skeletons your speaking of consist of relationship issues I have those skeletons, but I still don’t have urges to abuse children.

  10. Wayne Says:

I too was molested as a child but never laid a hand on one and never even fantasized about one. But I did years of therapy to release the guilt and anger. These kind of people are sick. Jail is a waste of time. If we are above the animal kingdom then we cannot kill or castrate them, you Neanderthals. Your ‘kill them’ reactions make you about evolved as the molester!

  11. To Shelli Says:

The excuse goes on…He was abused, so he went around to abuse other…And I guess the guy/gal, who abused him when he was young, would use the same excuse if got caught. So, as Shelli says, which I totally agree to, just kill him…
This is the only way to stop the chain reaction…

  12. DM Says:

    KILL HIM!
