Port St. Lucie teen accidentally shoots boyfriend in arm
June 4th, 2009 by Ana X. CeronPORT ST. LUCIE — A man was shot after a fight between a teen and a woman ended up with the man’s girlfriend accidentally firing a gun at him, police said.
Port St. Lucie resident Curtis Mock, 19, was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Nineteen-year-old April Lipko and Alyssa Dolan, 17, were at Dolan’s home in the 1200 block of Southwest Santiago Street when they argued, according to police.
Dolan left her kitchen to retrieve a shotgun, which she then pointed at Lipko and her boyfriend, 18-year-old Christopher Wilson, police said.
Wilson and Lipko left, and once outside Wilson said he’d be calling authorities to report that Dolan had threatened to shoot them, police said.
Mock, Dolan’s boyfriend, swiped the phone from Wilson, which Wilson retrieved when he said he wouldn’t call 911, according to police.
Wilson began to back out of the driveway in his truck and Mock started walking back toward the house when Dolan discharged the gun and shot Mock in his right arm.
Wilson then left and dialed 911. Police said Dolan and Mock also ran over to a neighbor’s house to call authorities.
Dolan told investigators she didn’t mean to shoot Mock and believed the safety lock was on as he tried taking the gun from her.
Dolan was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and a count of improper exhibition of a firearm.

So, just to straighten things out a bit, she’s definitely been on drugs for the past few days and I’ve actually seen her physically lunge herself at curtis in a cocaine-induced rage. This also did not happen at her house, the house is in curtis’s name and he just brought her home one day and never took her back. I can only imagine what her parents are thinking…

well j you just told the whole friend that drugs were involved and the girlfriend was known to be violent and the shotgun was still in a reachable distance this is clearly his fault if her parents are smart enough and her drug test is positive they should have the 19 year old arrested for contributing to a minor since it was his home,because she is going away for a long time. clintons 5 year rule on gun use and she has 3 gun offenses that is a long time.

Ive Known Alyssa for a long time and she a kind hearted wonderful person if you put the right people around her she lived with me for 6 months and I saw noting but good come from her dispite her parents pathetic attemtps to help her. Her home life was a sad storry and she lived with her boyfriend for 5 or 6 months before this happened.All I can say is i know for a fact without a shadow of a doubt in my mind tha Alyssa would have never ever ever done this if it wasnt for the drugs and the poeple. she a extremly kind hearted person with issues just like most of you.She deserves a second chance most definatlly. I know Alyssa too and she is a smart beautiful girl who obviously got messed up in this situation and felt threatened to even pick up a gun. I am sure there is way more to this story and the other people involved. She should have never been there in the first place.

So bad things happen when idiots do drugs and have guns around……..doesn’t sound like it is the 17 year olds fault. What was she doing there?? she shuld have been home with her parents. Not grown up enough and look what happened. Hope the boyfriend is ok and gets smart cause guns don’t do nothing but shoot people.

someone from another blog commenting on this subject brought up a good point i’d like address: photos were released of the victim (Curtis Mock, age 19) being treated by paramedics, the weapon in question strewn on the lawn, and the perpetrator (Alyssa Dolan, age 17) in what appears to be the jail or detention center, and not once in all of these photos do i see law enforcement officials. Apparently, PSLPD will allow any reporter trounce around the crime scene and approach the suspect in captivity… i don’t feel well about all of this

Alice makes an excellent point. The photos taken were totally inapporpriate. The 17 year old should not have had her name released or her photo last time i checked she is a minor. The victim was not smiling at the camera so my guess is he did not welcome being photographed in this situation and the gun is still on the ground unsecured for people to walk around and take photos of. Keystone Cops at their best. I bet all involved weren’t even drug tested or brought in for further questions and the cops lost their opportunity to find out what was really going on here.

I feel bad curtis doesnt have any other friends or “homeboys” rather, besides chris. Curtis is a great person but i guess he likes to associate with roxy smoking basers.
–If cutris wanted more forhimself he would have set up a better enviornment for him and his girlfriend and would have provided her with better protection that that Mossberg 500. She should have went home and stayed home when she realized the house wasnt safe for her. People make mistakes mistakes dont make people.

im the one who got shot and i disagree with what a lot of people said including J hes a baser that lived down the street who doesn’t even know what we were doing because we were out of town for a few days before this happened so fuck him! Besides that my gun was locked in my room put away so i did my part with the gun safety aspect and she felt threatened by the girl April who’s much bigger than her and refused to leave the house repetitively trying to fight her not just leave and that’s when the gun got involved. she shot me on accident as she was lowering the gun SO FOR ALL YOU BITCHES TALKING SHIT BOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T KNOW YOU FUCK OFF! OH YEA THIS GOES OUT TO CHAD I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL SHE LEFT YOU AND YOUR DUMB ASS THINKS YOU MATTER WHEN YOU DONT SO GIVE UP MORON
