OKEECHOBEE – Two men face homicide charges after they shot and killed an Okeechobee resident during a home invasion on Wednesday.
Brad Cardell Boswell and Hugo Fernando Lopez- Martinez were arrested that afternoon when they were found in Highlands County trying to nab a get-away car, according to Okeechobee Sheriff’s officials.

Shortly after noon that day both men went to Angel Pulido’s home in the 3600 block of Northwest Seventh Street and knocked on his door, officials said. Pulido answered the door and one of the men shot him with a handgun, according to investigators. Pulido, 18, fell to the floor and died, officials said.
Boswell, 27, and Lopez-Martinez, 18, then entered the home and demanded drugs and money from a woman living there, sheriff’s officials said. Once inside, one of the men also shot a pet pit bull, officials said.
With the drugs and money, the pair fled from the back door and drove off in the woman’s sports utility vehicle, officials said.
The woman called 911 and authorities in Okeechobee and surrounding counties began searching for the SUV.
