Police called three times to Mahoney residence

The attorney for the wife of former Congressman Tim Mahoney says police have been called on the Palm Beach Gardens Democrat three times in the past week because he refuses to leave the house during hours he’s supposed to be away.

“I just don’t even understand it. We have a certified copy of the court order and he just doesn’t care,” said Karen Steger, attorney for Terry Ellen Mahoney. “His disregard for the law is beyond my comprehension. I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Mahoney’s attorney Joel Feldman, aware of two of the incidents when contacted Monday, said officers haven’t taken any action because this isn’t a police matter.

“Karen Steger is looking for publicity at the expense of both parties,” Feldman said.

No charges were filed Monday, or in the prior incidents, and Tim Mahoney was allowed to remain at the house.

Palm Beach Gardens Police couldn’t be reached for comment Monday afternoon.

As part of the separation, Tim Mahoney has agreed to exclusive use of their $571,014 Cayman Place home in the PGA National Resort and Spa section of Palm Beach Gardens at night, while Terry Mahoney has exclusive use during the day.

A hearing is set for March 19 to review the order.

Steger, a divorce attorney who has represented Sewall’s Point resident Molly Wackenhut, the wife of Richard Wackenhut, who ran a multibillion-dollar security firm, said Terry Mahoney is afraid to go to the house when Tim Mahoney is there.

“He’s flagrantly violating the order,” Steger said. “The first time he was sitting by the pool when police came. His whole theory is that he’s there to do business, but he’s sitting by the pool.”

Terry Mahoney filed for divorce on Oct. 20, a week after it was reported her husband paid Patricia Allen of Hobe Sound, a former staffer with whom he was romantically linked, $121,000 out of his own pocket to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit Allen threatened.

While the one-term congressman initially stated he wanted to repair the marriage, last month he filed his own divorce paperwork claiming the marriage is over.

the key word here is “Democrat”, which means they don’t have to follow or adhere to the law.
They just establish and enforce them.

    Dear Louis,

It has nothing to do with being democrat, therre aas many from the other party who think laws do not apply to them.. My thought is what kind of agreement is this. She goes to the hous in am and he in pm? Dumbest thing I ever read. Must have been drawn up by a republican. LOL
