$1,400 in panties reported stolen out of Victoria’s Secret store
February 25th, 2009 by Ana X. CeronJENSEN BEACH — More than 150 panties were reported stolen from a Victoria’s Secret store on Tuesday.
An employee at the Treasure Coast Square mall lingerie store told Martin County Sheriff’s deputies said she noticed a woman with a large purse browsing through the store’s panty drawers at about 8 p.m.
The woman was wearing blue jeans and a brown shirt and was described to be about 5-foot-9, 200 lbs. and between 40 to 50 years old.
The employee said she asked if the woman needed help, but the woman said she was just looking.
The employee left to help a customer and when she returned, she told deputies she noticed dozens of panties were missing.
The value of the items was $1,422, according to a sheriff’s report.
