Police looking for suspects in gas station burglary
January 15th, 2009 by Ana X. CeronSTUART — Police are looking for a pair suspected of stealing $6,000 from the office of a convenience store over the weekend.
A man and woman walked into the Shell gas station at 837 N.W. U.S. 1 at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday to commit the burglary, police spokesman Sgt. Marty Jacobson said.
Video surveillance shows the woman slip into the back of the store, police said. She then breaks into an office and makes off with cash, police said.
Both suspects were described as wearing “Dickies” work pants during this incident.
Police believe the pair was the same duo that worked together to break into an office at the Triangle Lounge in downtown Stuart on Dec. 30. In that case, the man talked with a cashier while the woman snuck to a back office and stole cash, police said.
If anyone recognizes these suspects they are asked to contact Det. Jaylee Porcelli at (772) 220-3923 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at (800) 273-8477.
