Restaurant opportunity available in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE — City officials are looking for proposals from restaurateurs interested in operating the food, beverage and banquet facilities at the Saints of Port St. Lucie Golf Course.

The restaurateur chosen will operate the main kitchen, grill room and bar, snack bar, patio service, sale of alcoholic beverages, snacks and drinks for the concession cart. There also will be a possibility of catering food and beverages for meetings, conferences and special events.

The Saints facilities, located at 2601 S.E. Morningside Blvd., are currently run by Josef’s Restaurant and encompass 9,400-square-feet of space, including a kitchen, banquet room, grill, bar, office, screened terrace, banquet storage room and restrooms. The banquet room seats about 152 guests.

City officials plan to hold an informational meeting at 2 p.m. Jan. 6 in the Office of Management and Budget in City Hall, Building A, third floor, Suite 390. City Hall is located at 121 S.W. Port St. Lucie Blvd. The requirements for proposals will be explained at the meeting, with a tour of the Saints facility following.

The deadline for submitting a request for proposal is 2 p.m. Jan. 27. RFPs must be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget. Any proposals delivered after this deadline will be returned unopened, without exception.

Jeannie Stewart of the Office of Management and Budget is the only individual authorized to represent the City of Port St. Lucie in this matter. The City prohibits communications initiated by a proposer to any city official or employee evaluating or considering the proposals, including any member of City Council and the Mayor, prior to the time a decision has been made.

    Why is the City looking for a new Tenant? I guess Josef’s has had their fill of the City. I really can’t blame them. Who in their right mind would want too put up with the likes of Don Cooper and the rest of motley crew of idiots namely the City Council

    I don’t know what to say, unemployment rates, forclosures, the majority of people unemployed in Port St. Lucie worked as subcontractors therefore are not entitiled to unemployment and we are going to concentrate on a botanical garden. Call me crazy, but I don’t think stimulas money should be so carelessly spent. The citizens should vote on a committe to police the spending of the stimulas package to ensure it is fairly spent and saved. I am not hearing about how this money will be saved in case the economy gets worse. Or are we going to spend it on special interest projects and be in the same shape or worse in the near future.

    It is so true that building relations in your business is the first thing you need to establish to see success.
