FORT PIERCE — Two people were killed and three more badly hurt in a two-car crash at Okeechobee Road and Northeast 25th Street early Saturday, authorities said.

Alyssa Marie Depagnier, 20, and William G. Radar, 24, both of Fort Pierce, died after their 1994 Toyota sedan hit a tree following a collision with a 2009 Pontiac in the intersection about 3 a.m., according to a bulletin circulated by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The bulletin said Depagnier was driving her car east on Okeechobee Road when it collided with the Pontiac, which was heading south on Northeast 25th Street. The cars slid off the roadway together heading southeast until the Toyota hit a tree and the Pontiac rolled onto its roof.

The driver of the Pontiac, Javaris Iwan Minus, 18, of Vero Beach was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition and a passenger, Shamy T. Tommie Jr., 23, of Fort Pierce, was taken to Longwood Regional Medical Center in critical condition, the bulletin said.

A third passenger in the Pontiac, David Whitehead Jr., 17, of Fort Pierce was evaluated for serious injuries at the same hospital.

Troopers were investigating whether either driver had been drinking alcohol, the bulletin said.

“At this time the at-fault driver is undetermined,” it said.
