Man having ‘trouble’ with zipper arrested on indency charges

An Okeechobee man is accused of indecent exposure in front of a teenage clerk at a Port St. Lucie gas station.
A 17-year-old clerk at the Shell gas station said she saw Roger D. Arnold, 33, approach the cash register counter on Nov. 18 with his pants’ zipper down.
The teen told police that Arnold made several “movements” to bring her attention to his crotch area, according to a police report. Security cameras at the store also recorded the man behaving the way that the teen reported, police said.
Arnold told police that he had been having problems with his zipper that day because his pants were too tight and the zipper kept going down on its own. He also said it had been a “bad idea” not to wear any underwear that day, according to the report.
He said the reason he put his hands by his crotch at the counter was he was pulling up his zipper and never wanted to intentionally expose himself.
According to police, Arnold was arrested in October 2005 on a charge of exposing himself.
Arnold was taken to the St. Lucie County jail on Friday, when he was released after posting $10,000 bond.
