Port St. Lucie man hurt in home robbery

November 20th, 2008 by Holly Baltz

A Port St. Lucie man reported that two men robbed him at gunpoint at his home on Tuesday night.

John Gesell, 27, told Port St. Lucie police he was at home in the 3200 block of Southwest Pinto Street when the men kicked in his door and robbed him. When he resisted, he was struck in the head several times with a gun, Gesell said.

One of the men also fired a shot during the struggle, Gesell said.

Paramedics took Gesell to St. Lucie Medical Center for treatment. He has since been released.
