Stuart’s crime watch, police honored for National Night Out work

The National Association of Town Watch has named Crime Watch of Stuart and the Stuart Police Department as award recipients for participation in the 2008 “National Night Out.”
The city snagged 24th place, leading the state in the category of cities with populations of up to 49,999 residents. The city of Palm Beach Gardens won 26th in the same category.

 For the past 25 years the first Tuesday in August is dedicated as “National Night Out.” More than 10,000 communities participate in crime prevention programs on National Night Out.

Crime Watch of Stuart and the Stuart Police Department work together to host neighborhood events which create long lasting partnerships. These partnerships promote citizen involvement and communications between the community and police department throughout the year. “National Night Out” serves as a catalyst to safe and secure neighborhoods.
