Boy, 11, reportedly hits mom’s head with saw, then offers $5 not to call cops
November 14th, 2008 by Post StaffFORT PIERCE — An 11-year-old boy accused of hitting his mother in the head with a saw before offering her $5 not to call police is facing an aggravated battery charge, according to a St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office report released Thursday.
The altercation happened Wednesday morning in the 1700 block of Wyoming Avenue after the boy and his 41-year-old mother argued as she tried to get him to take his medication. Following the argument, the boy bicycled to the Wyoming Avenue address, where he apparently started hitting a tree with a saw.
The mother followed him but he still wouldn’t take the medicine. He raised the saw and hit his mother, who had a minor laceration, on top of her head.
“When he saw the blood coming from her head he threw down the saw and started to plead with the victim to not call the police,” the report states.
He reportedly offered a $5 bill to his mother if she didn’t notify authorities.
The victim’s pregnant 19-year-old daughter said the boy has tried to cut her stomach with a fork, claiming he was going to give her a “C-section.”
She also said he tried to use hairspray and a cigarette lighter as a torch to set the family cat ablaze.
The 19-year-old daughter’s husband said he found him looking up bomb-making instructions on the Internet.
The boy repeatedly apologized to his mother and said he struck her with the saw by accident.

As far a the child goes…serious psychiatric evaluation needs to be conducted and long term counseling wouldn’t be a bad idea. This sounds like a cereal killer in the making. Makes ya wonder!!!

This is clearly a very disturbed child and I wonder what type of upbringing he has… Something must be happening to him in order for this type of behaviour to occur.
Whether the child is black, white, blue, purple, red, yellow or whatever…. the bottom line is he needs some serious help…
I believe the word is seriel killer…cereal killer????

this is just stupid…i think that the mother should be more responsible for her child..and what is that about $5 for not calling the cops come on…and i say that the kid should go to some therapy or something because he tried to do a c-section on his sister and put the cat on fire WOW! THATS CRAZYYY

Please listen this is our community ,our home. we need to rise up from the destitude city we live in and make something of Ft Pierce . After all we do live in the sunshine state . It just never shines in Ft Pierce because of all the negativity that has been shown on this post today. I would like to welcome everyone to stop by and get some BBQ at the park next to the football stadium on Virginia ave starting at 10;30 am on saturday October 15th. If you choose to bring a dish (or old family recipe) it will certainly be appreciated . Lets stand up and make something of this community and bring everyone together and help this family in need. People I just wanted to inform you all that this childs upbrining may have no direct bearing on his mental status. He certaintly sounds like someone with an antisocial personality disorder. Judgement is not even to us. The family and this child needs our prayers.

Children displaying the type of behaviors as this boy is, are deeply troubled. Read the story. It says he is on medications but refused to take them. Obviously the boy has psychological and behavioral problems. He may be a sociopath and so disturbed he cannot behave or react normally. The problem may be in how he is “wired”, not how he was brought up.
It’s a very difficult situation, and dangerous for the family, neighbors and community. The boy probably cannot help himself, and the family is powerless. Medication and heavy counseling can help, but if the boy won’t cooperate, as evidenced by his behavior, what is the mother to do? Often these disturbed children need to be institutionalized, for everyone’s safety.

I really never get involved with these blogs, but just completing my psych rotation in nursing, I have a new understanding of people with behavioral and mental health issues. There is always an underlying cause whether it be genetics, environmental, or their upbringing.

Did anyone ever wonder why an 11 year old boy is NOT IN SCHOOL on Wednesday??? Between the boy not being in school and trying to kill the cat, harm the fetus and his mother, and the 19 year old daughter being married and pregnant and living with the mother - that family needs the assistance of social services badly.

That child has serious issues!!!!!!! If it is not dealt with now, he will turn out to be a serial killer for sure. He definately needs a psychological evaluation. Also, what is he on medication for? That kid is twisted….

Leave it up to the police, if you spank(whip) his behind, then the parent goes to jail for child abuse, the children are the parents now and the parents have to obey the children. The system is all screwed up, when they took prayer out of the schools and chastisement from the parents they found out that was wrong, now they see. Children are losing their minds with hurting each other and anyone they can. Parents we have to take our children back. Don’t be afraid of them, you tell them what to do. My saying is if you live where I pay rent,buy the grocery,and your clothing,lights,water, and pay for whatever you need, you ARE going to obey ME. The police or the system does not take care of them. My children are grown and have their own and they got good behind whippings and didn’t have to get that many, and they are well behaved and well mannered., Plus they appreciate being chastised (NOT BEAT To DEATH) Parents keep your children in line,start with them small,until they are grown.
